This policy explains what we do with personal data collected through this website. It does not cover personal data processed in connection with a specific litigation project or other working relationship. Where applicable, that processing will be governed by the relevant arrangements and privacy information provided at the time.
We collect only what you choose to send us through the contact form:
If you email us directly, we hold whatever your message contains.
This website sets no cookies. We use no analytics, no advertising tags and no tracking of any kind. Fonts and images are served from our own site rather than a third party, so simply reading these pages sends nothing about you to anyone else. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
We do not build profiles and we make no automated decisions about you.
We use your data to answer your enquiry and, where appropriate, to consider whether we might work together.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to people who approach us, and assessing potential projects, partnerships and funding opportunities. We have weighed this against your rights and consider it to be what you would reasonably expect when contacting a business through its website.
Where you ask us to take steps with a view to entering into a contract with you, we may also process your data because it is necessary to take those steps at your request.
Please do not send medical records, details of criminal allegations or other sensitive personal data through the contact form or by ordinary email. If your enquiry concerns a potential claim, describe it in outline and we will arrange a secure route for any necessary detail.
Enquiries submitted through the form pass through our form provider and arrive in our email. They are read by the members of the BlueStream team who need to deal with them.
We may also share personal data with our professional advisers, and with anyone we are required to share it with by law or by court order.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for marketing.
Your data may be accessed by authorised members of our team or by suppliers outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we use an applicable UK adequacy regulation or another recognised safeguard for international transfers, together with any additional measures required in the circumstances.
If your enquiry does not lead to a working relationship, we delete it within twelve months.
If it does, we keep it for the life of the engagement and for six years afterwards. We may keep it longer where litigation is ongoing or contemplated, or where the law requires it.
Under UK data protection law you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email ap@blue-stream.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first, so we have the chance to put it right.
We hold personal data on access-controlled systems and limit it to those who need it. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, which is why we ask you not to send sensitive material through the form.
We update this policy as our practices change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
